Which duvet should I choose?
It's important that you don't just grab the first and best one when choosing a duvet. There are several questions you can ask yourself in this regard:
What size duvet should I get?
This point is not nearly as important unless you are taller than average. Most people can make do with a 200 cm duvet, but if you are taller than 180-190 cm, we would recommend an extra long duvet of 220 cm .
If you want to share the duvet with your partner or just have a large duvet for yourself, you should go for a double duvet. Double duvets are usually available in sizes 200x200cm and 200x220cm and can be used by two people.
How warm should my duvet be?
Some people generally feel warm when they sleep – and others have the opposite. That's why it's important that the right duvet supports this, so that you don't get too hot or too cold. For example, you can choose a silk duvet, which is temperature-regulating and thus adapts to your body temperature. If you prefer a warmer duvet, you can go for a delicious musk duvet , goose down duvet or a very exclusive eider down duvet , which is one of the world's most luxurious duvets.
What content do I prefer?
Some people have clear preferences for what to fill their duvet with. However, the filling is often related to how warm your duvet is, and so you may already be aware of this. If you want a warm duvet, you should go for a duvet with a high carrying capacity, such as a musk duvet or a goose down duvet. On the other hand, if you are already warm and want a less warm duvet, a temperature-regulating silk duvet is recommended, which with its silk filling and silk springs can feel pleasantly cooling against your body.
If you have allergies, you can also choose a silk duvet with a silk spring , as it is hypoallergenic. House dust mites and the like cannot live in silk, which provides a much cleaner sleeping environment.
Which duvet should you choose for your baby?
It's no secret that getting a baby to sleep isn't always the easiest thing to do. It's not that a good duvet is all it takes, but it's one point where you shouldn't compromise.
- Choose the right size so that your child can snuggle up well, but without getting completely lost in the large duvet.
- Choose breathable natural materials so that the temperature can be regulated but at the same time retain heat. You can choose either a down or wool duvet.
- The duvet should remove moisture – especially in very young children! Very young children sleep a lot and cannot turn over on their own, which is one of the reasons why so much moisture is created. Therefore, choose a duvet that can absorb the moisture so that it does not accumulate.
- Although the baby pillows are cute and look best with a matching pillow and duvet, we do NOT recommend that children under 2 years of age sleep with a pillow. So keep the pillow for decoration but put it next to the bed when your baby goes to sleep.
How often should you change your duvet?
There is a fairly wide range in how long your duvet can last. It can vary between 5-10 years and depends on both the quality of the duvet and the wear and tear. On the other hand, you should replace your pillow about every two years, as sweat penetrates more easily because you lie on it at night.

Maintenance of duvets and pillows
Maintaining your duvet and pillow increases its lifespan and effectiveness, but is also very important if you want to keep your sleeping environment clean and comfortable. This is done, among other things, by airing and shaking your duvet and pillow often. Below you can read about why it is important and how we recommend that you do it.
By shaking your duvet you prevent the feathers or down from clumping together over time and thereby losing their ability to insulate and warm. If you do not shake your duvet and pillow often, even the finest quality duvets and pillows will deteriorate over time. It is also important that you shaking your duvet and pillow, instead of knocking them, as this can damage the filling. It is recommended that duvets and pillows are shaken daily.
Airing your duvet and pillow is also important if you want a good sleeping environment. By airing your duvet and pillow, you ensure that all the moisture is allowed to escape from the duvet and pillow. This is important to prevent mold and fungus from growing in the duvet and pillow. You can simply air your duvet and pillow outside every 14 days, but it is recommended that the bedroom is aired frequently, so that the duvet and pillow get fresh air. When airing the duvet and pillow outside, it is important that this is done in the shade. Down duvets and pillows in particular do not tolerate direct sunlight as this can damage the lanolin in the down.
Tip: It's really good to air out duvets and pillows on a frosty morning, as the humidity here is very low.
