All our silk products are made from the finest long-fiber Mulberry silk, and since Mulberry silk is highly resistant to bacteria, it does not require washing as often as other textile products.

We recommend that the instructions below are followed to maintain the product's properties and appearance for many years to come.

Washing silk bedding

When washing silk pillowcases and duvet covers, you can follow these instructions:

  • Hand wash in lukewarm water or machine wash at 30℃ on silk or gentle cycle.

  • Use detergent that is intended for silk. It is important that the detergent does not contain enzymes or bleach, as this will damage the silk fibers.

  • The silk cover should be washed inside out. When machine washing, a laundry bag to protect the cover from being pulled by the washing machine.

  • We recommend using a clothesline to dry the silk cover, avoid drying in direct sunlight. The silk cover must NOT be tumble dried.

  • Ironing the silk cover should be done while the cover is still slightly damp. Iron the cover using the silk setting on your iron. If your iron does not have this setting, use the coldest setting.

Caring for silk duvets and pillows

  • To keep your silk duvet and pillow clean, it is important to air it well a couple of times a year. This is done to give the duvet/pillow the opportunity to “breathe”. Airing the duvet and pillow should not take place in direct sunlight.

  • If your silk duvet or pillow has a stain, we recommend using a wrung-out cloth with mild soap. If the silk duvet/pillow requires further treatment, we recommend contacting a professional dry cleaner.
