Bamboo bedding can be machine washed at 30-40 degrees (max. 800 revolutions). We recommend using the silk/wool program, which applies to both duvet and pillowcases . Make sure to turn inside out and close the zipper (leave 10 cm open), wash the bedding separately from other laundry and preferably in a laundry bag .

Use a gentle detergent without enzymes, for example silk/wool soap. Use never chlorine bleach, as this destroys the bamboo fibers and causes discoloration.

We recommend that bamboo bedding is air-dried. Avoid direct sunlight. Bamboo bedding is highly absorbent and therefore dries quickly. If you wish to use a tumble dryer, it is recommended that you do not use a high heat setting and that you avoid over-drying, as these things can damage the bamboo fibers.

The difference between washing bamboo and cotton

Unlike cotton, which must be washed at 60 degrees to get above the 59 degrees where dust mites die, this is not necessary when washing bamboo bedding. This is because our bamboo bedding, like silk bedding, is antibacterial and dust mites cannot live in bamboo bedding. For the same reason, both bamboo bedding and silk bedding are an obvious choice for people who suffer from allergies.

How to remove stains from bamboo bedding

Bamboo bedding is a luxurious and soft textile that requires special care to maintain its quality and appearance. When it comes to treating stains on bamboo bedding, it is important to be careful to avoid damaging the fibers. Here are some steps to remove stains from bamboo bedding in the most gentle way:

  1. Quick response : The faster you treat the stain, the greater the chance of removing it completely. Be sure to react as soon as you discover the stain.

  1. Remove excess material : If there are loose or solid substances on the stain (e.g. food or soil), gently remove them with a soft brush or spoon.

  1. Make a stain remover : Mix a mild stain remover by combining lukewarm water and a small amount of mild, non-bleach liquid laundry detergent. You can also use a bamboo or silk-specific stain remover if you have one available.

  1. Stain Treatment : Gently apply the diluted stain remover to the stain using a clean cloth or sponge. Gently dab the stain, avoid rubbing or scrubbing as this can damage the bamboo fibers.

  1. Rinse thoroughly : Rinse the bamboo bedding thoroughly with cold water to remove any residue from the stain remover.

  1. Wash according to care instructions : Wash the bamboo bedding in the washing machine according to care instructions.

If the above does not work, the bedding should be sent to a professional laundry for cleaning.
